King of Kotha is a well-made gangster film with a stylish presentation. The film is technically sound, with excellent cinematography, editing, and music. The performances are withal top-notch, with Dulquer Salmaan distributing a vocation-best performance as Kannan.
The film's story is simple, but it is efficaciously told. The film does a good job of building up suspense and tension. The action sequences are adscititiously well-choreographed and executed.

 However, the film is not without its imperfections. The pacing is gradual in some components, and the film could have been trimmed by at least 15 minutes. Supplementally, the film's climax is remotely prognosticable and underwhelming.

Overall, King of Kotha is a good gangster film with a stylish presentation and excellent performances. It is a must-watch for fans of the genre.
